The Hope Tree
Death in Texas has close ties to El Paso, Texas. Allen Gilmer (Executive Producer) who is from El Paso, spoke with Hector Castillo about the Hope Tree. This beautiful tree has been a sign of hope and inspiration not only for the residents of El Paso but also for the people along the El Paso-Juarez border. It has a rich history of stories told by those catching sight of this tree from a distance.
The Hope Tree is located on Rim Road, at a Mabel Welch home, where Hector lives. An important fact about Mabel Welch is that she was the first registered female architect in the state of Texas! Be on the lookout for the tree in one of the Death in Texas scenes.
